There currently are three recognized "species" of short-tailed pythons (aka bloods).

Python curtus - 3.5-4.5 ft dark to almost black (Sumatra)
Python breitensteini - 4.5 - 6.0ft brown, dark walnut, orange (Borneo only)
Python brongersmai - 5.0-7ft yellow, brown, red (Sumatra, Malaysia)

The largest is P. brongersmai and is usually referred to as a blood python. P. curtus is known as the black blood and P. breitensteini is referred to as borneo blood. The last two should be referred to as short-tails since red is not a color exhibited by them. However people mix the terms blood and short-tail so you may wish to have them clarify which species they are really talking about. Care is the same with all however caging varies by size.
