feeding questions

greg woodie Dec 21, 2004 11:48 AM

i have a couple questions. first, i bought some mice from my supplier the other day. a couple of them have tumors. is it okay to feed these to my snakes? my supplier said someone told her they would not harm my snakes. is this right? second, i have a Timber Rattlesnake which envenomated a rat i was trying to feed it, but it wouldn't eat. would it be safe to give the rat to one of my King snakes or not? i would think since King snakes eat venomous snakes anyway it wouldn't hurt feeding them an envenomated rat. but, please tell me if i'm wrong. i just want to be sure. if it's not okay, i will gladly dispose of the rodents. thanks for any advice!

Mice with tumors are OK to feed your snake. So is the envenomated rat. It won't hurt the snake.
