runny poop...

noori Dec 21, 2004 06:03 PM

What does runny poop mean? I was soaking my russian and he pooped a normal-looking poop, then followed it with runny black poop. I looked at it under a microscope and it just looked like various fibers and a few strange tiny clear corkscrew strands (nothing moving). His chin has a sort of mossy look to it, too. Any ideas?

It could be a sign of diet problems or parasatism, or could be no big deal. What power was your microscope on when you saw the corskew things. If on high, then probably just normal bacteria. I would recommend having the stool checked by a vet if it hasn't been recently. It should get a float for eggs and a direct. It may also be a sign that more fiber is needed in the diet.
