Carewise bloods and Borneos are pretty much identical; high humidity and good ventilation. Borneos usuall only attain a length between 4' - 4.5'. Most bloods can reach 5' , i've seen some huge ones around 8' at the Baltimore Zoo's reptile house. Temperments can range from docile to extremely aggressive with both. I have a WC blood that has NEVER tried to bite, but i've also had CB borneos where one baby would bite me every chance it could get and the other never tried to bite. Borneos generally are more a little expensive, depending on who you buy from. They are both widely availible.

Hey,
Bloods and Borneo's are both Island forms of pythons now considered totally different species. Borneo's are only found on the Island of Borneo, while Red bloods, can be found from the Mainland of Malaysia, south to Northern Sumatra and some of the surrounding Islands off the coast of Sumatra, including Bangka etc.

The Bloods are a much larger species, with adult lengths reaching upwards of 6-7ft for females and males 5-6.5ft. Borneo females can reach lengths of 6-6.5ft and males 4.5-5.5.

As for temperaments, I haven't met a short-tail or blood I didn't like. They can be unruly, depending on whether the animal or animals have been wild caught or not handled enough. Each blood and short-tail, is an individual, but can be made to get used to handling and cage servicing with time and the proper amount of patience.

As for price and availability, they are always available if you look at the classifieds and the expos, however price will vary accordingly, depending on whether you are buying from a reputable breeder or from an importer in it for the quick buck.
