I want a Matamata turtle, from what I've researched- you shouldn't feed them goldfish/carp type because of dangerous toxins, and hatchling-juveniles tend to die without notice. Given this I'm thinking that an 8+ inch (carapace) Mata would be safest for the investment. I was wondering what other info is out there that I should know before making this purchase??? What kind of aquatic plants do they eat? Whats the best type of fish for the turtle, is it in anyway necessary to have a sunning spot(other then breeding), and whats the best type of enclosure to give the turtle???
