When you you start cooling down a female Eastern BT that just gave birth in Dec?

If she was my female, I wouldn’t cool her this year because of the late birth. Instead I would keep her at normal temps and illumination this winter building her strength back up, and then place her into hibernation next Nov/Dec. If she has slowed down feeding, etc, then she may take a week or two of rest regardless of the temps you provide.

Even if you decide to cool her this year, and then follow the “standard” (if there is such a thing), breeding cycle, odds are she wouldn’t be receptive to breeding again so soon anyway.

Normally there is a 4-5 month period between birth and brumation. Following this cycle would put your female in an April/May start for brumation. No, I would just skip it this year, even if you are trying to maintain a seasonal cycle and not worrying about breeding her next year.
