my baby blood is going through his first shed (clouded over) and for some reason he has been in his water dish for the past 4-5 days continuously. he will not eat anything (typical of shedders) and he will not come out of the water. i know that snakes like to soak before a shed but for some reason im thinking that almost a week is a bit much. is there anything that i need to be concerned or worried about or is this normal for bloods?

Hey,
Are the temps and conditions in the cage up to snuff? then, I wouldn't worry about it! They typically take from 8-11 days to shed, and will spend as much time as they need in the water, for as long as they like prior to a shed if it is available. It's just doing its thang! Enjoy it and relax, its being a blood.

In the winter, my blood will spend days in her water even when she's not in shed....I keep the temps and humidity right and she's healthy, but she's such a soaker. It used to bug me but it hasn't appeared to have any ill effects so I don't worry about it.
