yea, an importer or breeder released some on big pine key a few years ago and since they have spread through several islands. theres actually an article you can read online if you just google florida day geckos or something like that. we found them mostly in residential areas, which isnt surprising cuz many people have thickly grown foliage and flowers and all in their yards. other keys they're found on are little torch, big torch, plantation key (where we found the first few), and i cant remember but the one i brought home was from the parking lot at the dolphin research center (dont know what key). im up from my nap so the pics will be up real soon!!!

oh man, it was amazing, awesome, stupendous, outstanding, and all other words like that. i got your message, you happened to call me while we were at a recreational park catching iguanas. it's unfortunate that deal didnt go through! i totally had a blast and i cant wait to go on another trip with these guys, i think a trip to unexplored fields of kansas might be in store for the future. we'll see. anyway, im working on fixing up the pics right now.

Definately look me up for the Kansas trip, I'm a short distance from the border... I've been herping in Kansas quite a few times as well... I'll be planning a trip to NM this summer also... This will be mostly for inverts, but there are a TON of herps... I've seen tons of stuff there in the past... pre much nothing on the herp side can be collected though...

i went to new mexico last year. caught quite a few interesting herps. didn't see a single snake the entire time though and i was out walking probably 6 or 7 hours a day in perfect habitat. it was a good time and i would definately recommend trying to go.

night time is the time for snakes in NM... I commonly see longnose snakes, patchnose snakes, night snakes and black-tailed rattlers to name a few... Of course, as with any locale, there are certain time frames both hourly and seasonaly to see certain species...
