My parents brought home an Iguana yesterday! He's about a foot SVL and about two feet of tail. (Ouch) They got a huge cage (6' by 6' by 4' wide) free with him. Hes so cool! I need to get a bunch of Iguana books now.

Animal Planet's Animal Cops a few days ago. I do not know her, but I found it on their forum.
About Iguanas, my cousin did the same thing as you and took it upon himself the task of raising an iguana. After about two weeks, they had to sell it because it was so difficult to maintain. CollaredGuy, just be sure that you can properly take care of him (clean cage, feed, sun), or it will be a very difficult pet. You seem very excited so good luck with the Iggie.

It's kind of a family pet, (Although its sort of mine, I feed it and care for it and I am trying to tame it.) good thing too cause I am already paying out my nose for crickets for my other lizards. I gotta start successfully breeding them. I am looking into a local vet that specializes in exotics, to get him a checkup. Hopefully one price and I can take all my herps.

I had not seen the information page but believe me, I know about misconceptions, and the animal protein thing really surprised me when I read it. That there was a little animal protein in Iguana dry food. I won't be giving him that. I know it will be hard work but I'm not a beginner, and my parents are going to pay for his stuff too.

(He really needs his claws trimmed!)

Congrats!! I'm still trying to get my GF to allow more animals (tho I suppose a permanent place & some substantial cash flow would help)... Enjoy =)
