the temperature problem your describing, being hotter inside then out, happens when you thaw a mouse with a microwave, as a microwave can heat the inside first, all other heatsources are going to heat the outside first, in which case the outside temperature is going to be the hottest. The best way to avoid this, is to avoid microwaves, use warm water instead. Snakes have varying degrees of sensitivy to the heat of their prey depending on species, some use it exclusively, others not at all. Generally they aren't too specific about it. If the mouse is too hot to handle, its too hot, otherwise your probably fine. If its your goal to entise your snake to eat by warming it up, you'll probably get a better reaction by wiggling it.
