Hi. I just joined and I live in Phoenix AZ. I am looking at getting a corn snake. I am not totally new to reptiles (I have 4 tortoises) but am new to snakes. I have always LOVED them and am so excited to have one. I have been doing a lot of research but wanted to join this so I can learn more. I will only be having one (not planning on breeding) and I was wondering what is the best type of enclosure to get for it? Everything I have read has said an aquarium which is good but are reptariums any better? I have attached a pic of them and of course I would get one that is suited for the snake. They come in various sizes and I was thinking of getting maybe a 40 gallong one? Also are reptile expos a good place to get one? I go to them all the time (for the tortoises) to hold the snakes and bearded dragons (which I also love) and they always have very nice corn snake babies. Thanks
Meghan

hello. i live in scottsdale, az! nice to know someone else in the valley is into reptiles. i have 6 snakes and i house all them in aquariums. they are doing fine in those.
i was just at the last show in scottsdale this past weekend. it was small but there were alot of corn babies. i ended up buying one:0). real pretty zigzag strip baby.
corns are real good to start with. i started with a corn snake baby only at the time i didn't know about reptile shows and bought it at petco. reptile shows are a great place to get a snake of any kind.
once thing you might want to know they are addicting!! be prepared to have more then one.

my little zoo:
jungle carpet python
3 corns snakes
tangerine honduran milk snake
albino sonoran gopher snake

Hi. I love pretty much all reptiles. I would also love to have a chameleon, bearded dragon, and an iguana in the future. I just found out about that reptile expo (which wasnt far from me) on Monday and I was very angry I missed it because I always go to them even if I dont plan on getting anything. I have gotten 2 out of the 4 of my tortoises from an expo and they are very healthy. I will definately be getting more (i used to want a python, for in the future, but have decided against it because of the huge enclosures they need although I still think they are beautiful). So I am starting with a smaller snake like a corn. I have looked at some at past expos and thought they were gorgeous and so fun to hold. Thanks
