Help with Breeding

PetMania Dec 22, 2004 10:58 PM

I have a 3000 gram female that I am trying to breed for the first time. She has been with the male several times over the last two months. She is still pounding rats every five days. Will she continue to eat after she becomes pregnat or will she stop.

Im no expert but I have been doing alot of research and this is what I have read. Some females will continue to feed. You can offer feed but should offer a bit smaller than usual as she becomes ravid . If she continues to feed she will recover better due to egg production is very sressful on a female. I would recommend putting your male in mon-fri and seperate on sat-sun. I would do this through march or until the female is obviously gravid. Hopefuully you have lowered nightime temps ?
