When palpating should the follicles feel grouped together like a bunch of grapes or with a distinct separation in between. I'm guessing when they are first formed they are more like a bunch of grapes but do they separate before being fertilized and if so at what point? How long into the follicle maturation? How far apart? I'm asking because I can feel what I'm almost 100% sure is follicle growth in a bunch of females but I expected them to be more grouped until after ovulation. All these females have bred 7 times in the last 2 to 3 months. I also have adult females that have only been breeding for the last month or less and they don't seem to have the same 'feel'. Some of them have what seems to be a slight mass where you would expect the follicles to start growing but you can't feel individual lumps.
Any insight would be appreciated,
