hi from the Springs, that show in September is pretty decent, though, I haven't been to any others
The first few years I went it was all corns, balls, beardies and boas, pretty boring! But this past show had a lot more variety! Bloods, carpets, cresties etc.. We're getting up there in the herp world!

Hey, Ya Randy is right! What kind of snakes are you looking for?? I was a dealer at the last show and I had some great sales and hopefully the 2005 year will be better as I will have some pastel ball pythons, CB henkeli leaf-tails, cresteds, and a few other sweet looking reptiles! Hey Randy are all your female balls being breed, or do you have any extra??? ERIk

Well I was looking for hets of any kind, but mainly pieds.

RandyRemington Dec 24, 2004 08:49 AM

Erik,

Sorry, I've paired the last of my females here already and will be delivering the last 3 of the 8 I'll have out on loan this year in the next week or so. Is that new pastel male look big enough? Hopefully you can find someone with a big pet female who wants some pastels.

Kendall,

Off hand I don't know for sure if anyone local will be producing het pieds next year. You might have to pay shipping from out of state. Check with Scales and Tails though as I know their owner used to have pieds and there is also a rat breeder lady in Brighton that might have some from the store. Also there is a guy in Fort Collins that had some so drop me a line and I can send you his e-mail address although I haven't heard from him in a while. And check with Pro Exotics as they have been building up their ball python morphs and may have some pieds now. I'll have a long shot at producing pieds myself but no 100% hets (breeding 50% het X 25% het).

How much do you charge to loan out your snakes?

RandyRemington Dec 24, 2004 09:52 AM

It's for a split of the babies. The terms vary depending on the relative value of the snakes. Even normal females are fairly valuable but are normally loaned to even more valuable morph gene males (i.e. there is a demand for normal females for breeding, but not much for normal males).

There are risks such as disease or parasites and trust issues. Will the breeding host take good care of the barrowed snake? Will all the offspring be disclosed? Will you get your snake back at all? You may not be able to agree on the split based on the value of each animal's contribution to the offspring. Lots of people will not do loans due to these concerns however they have the potential for a win/win situation, just be careful.

Randy: Well if you happen to come across any more tell me, or if any body drops out. I hope you have a good season to! The Pastel is now 600 grams on an empty stomach!!

Kendall: Try PRO-EXOTICS!!! You will not be disapointed! I am there every saturday, and they are going to do ALOT of ball pythons this year. They should have good stuff next year! I buy stuff from them all the time and am NEVER dissapointed. ERIk
