I WILL TRY TO MAKE THIS SHORT, MY FOUR FOOTER HAS ACCESS TO TWO WATER AREAS WITHIN HIS ENCLOSURE, THE FIRST BEING A 57 GAL. POND AVAIL AT HOMEDEPOT(WAS USED FOR SMALL KOI) THE SECOND BEING THE LARGE TUB MADE BY VISION(76"LX40"WX22"T) THIS TUB HAS ABOUT 350 GAL. OF WATER IN IT AT ALL TIMES. MY GUY GOES OUT OF HIS WAY TO SOAK IN THE SMALL POND AND HE LOOKS PRETTY FUNNY IN IT. BOTH PONDS KEPT AT SAME TEMPS, WHAT DO YOU MAKE OF THIS? JASON

There are variables to consider:

Where is the larger pool situated in relation to sunlight, vegetation, privacy, proximity to regular feeding area(s)(if applicable), and ease of entry and exit?

Thanks for the response, it is all about the same, it is a 10x12 bedroom, I built the floor up 20 " and at first he only had the small pond, but as he got bigger i added the bigger pond, he has land area in between the two ponds. He does go to the big pond, but always goes back to the little one. I have the water at 82 and he has multiple basking spots as well as uvb bulbs above his ponds. I am not worried or anything just thought it was weird. thanks Jason. MERRY CHRISTMAS

Just curious...does the smaller pool block him from the view of passersby or people looking into the room? It may be that it gives him a sense of security and privacy.

maybe because he fits in it so snug he feels secure, hell who knows maybe he just likes it. the small pond is black and the bigger one is white, think that has anything to do with it. Jason
