Gecko for Xmas!!! YaY!

chibicricket Dec 23, 2004 03:10 PM

I'm really excited, because my boyfriend is buying me a gecko this weekend. I called Petco, (along with many other pet stores in the area), and they have baby albinos and normals, and adult high yellows. I was thinking about getting an albino, can someone post some pics of a healthy albino so I can see what it should look like? Baby and adult pics please!

Congrats on your future new leo! Sorry I don't have any pics of albinos but based on personal experience I have a couple tips. Try not to get the first one that steals your heart right away. Take your time and look at ALL of them. Make sure it's tail is fat and not wrinkly looking and that its eyes are clear. Make sure it is not lethargic but perky and tries to run aways when being picked up. Check out the condition of the cage and the cage mates. If the cage is really dirty or the poops are really runny go some where else. Also if most of the cage mates are skinny, weak and sick looking go somewhere else. And alway resist the temptaion to by the sick one in hope of makeing it better. Anyways good luck! I hope you find the perfect one!

She is just a regular temper albino, but that's probably what you will find in a pet store. Are there no shows or breeders in your area? You could probably get a higher quality gecko, possibly even for cheaper. In either case, good luck with your new little one.

She was about two months in this picture, I'll find one where she was only one month.

They became so bright then they faded away. She still has a little bit of orange but no where near as much as she did in this picture. She has actually lightened with age as opposed to darkened like most tempers.

This is a healthy Tremper Giant Albino, but you probably wont find anything like this in PetCo............ unless you are really, really, really lucky!
