Im Callin you out EVE! lol

Fourstrings88 Dec 23, 2004 09:51 PM

Hey Eve or anyone for that matter I have a few questions for ya Eve.I checked out your site and VERY good site liked it alot but I didnt see any pictures of your room/Enclosures you keep your Collards at.

How many tanks do you have and How many Collards do you have in 1 tank(I am assuming you dont have them all in one tank but I could be wrong).Another question that came to my mind was that I saw your rocks/basking spots.I was wondering where you got them and if they are in one peice or did you have to glue them or did they come like that?

Now a question about Collards drinking.I have put water in my collards dish but Martin never seems to take a lick unless its right in front of him should I put an Ice cube on a rock and have it that way.I am trying to redo the Decor of my Enclosure of course b.c. I am sick of having the risk of having the branch fall on Martin and the crix just are annoying in thier.

OH! I saw Shasta your W.C. Collard.Martin is a "Farm Breed" so I was wondering if you were having problems with him.Mine still scracthes his nails agaisnt the glass with his whole body against it trying to get out...he does eat and bask but I have not really handled him and I do not want to be bitten either. So please any suggestions

THANKS EVE VERY HELLPFUL EVERYONE IS THANKS ALL!!!

Gees so many questions, I have many many tanks, I use alot of the 40 wide breeder tanks, usually keep about 4 in there. My C. vestigiums have their own 40 breeder to themselves.

Just depends, I have some 30 longs I keep a pair in each, have a 40 long, keep 3 in there. Always different.

As far as the basking sites, they are just stacks of slate on 2 bricks.
My room I wish was much bigger, I need more space. But I have tanks all around the 4 walls of room and have some low to the floor on cinderblock tables, that way the lizards still have the floor space to run , they can run throught the cinder blocks so they serve as tables and caves, hehehe.

I have rocks and plants in the whole center for them. And some large rocks fixed so there are spaces to crawl under and sleep. Because I have a few collareds who free roam and do not use a tank.

One large wall has a row of cabinets the whole length with plywood on top, that holds 3 of the 40 wide breeder tanks.
Can't see , they are of to the right.

This is the only pic I have, deleted most of them, its older and is of one corner, angle shot of some lizard tanks, most on the wall ya cant see, sorry. not much help

for the free roamers or anyone who comes out for a run, stops by and heats up a bit , then continues on their way.

I have it situated inbetween two tanks, with an expandable screen above them, running from the top of one tank to the other, like a bridge and a Mercury Vapor bulb sits on top, so they get warm and UVB also .

Hey its their room, and it sure looks like it,

Alls I can say is WOW!! You love your lizards! I wish I had something like that. I think its great, you have them in their OWN room, where they can get out and roam if they want. What a great Person you are,for taking such great care of your animals!
All of your tanks look great. I like the way you have their room.

All I can say is thank goodness (thank EVE) that I'm not the only one who turned over part of the house to lizards.

I am happy to say that I am in recovery these days; I only have half of a room dedicated to the critters now.

Very impressive, Eve!

I would like it. Love the lizards, hehehe. But when it was my glass shop I had a peice of old linolium put down just to cover the wood floor where I worked.
And we also left old paneling up.

Then I slowly continued to move tanks in and now the floor looks stupid, and I would like a bright color on walls to lighten it up.

But hey I can't kick to much, got them , they are whats important.
The rest can wait. Some day when I'm rich, LOL I will create a real NEAT lizard Lair ,

SOMEDAY!
