Best size enclosure for an adult GTP??

susanpearl Dec 23, 2004 11:44 PM

Hi,

What's the best size enclosure for an adult GTP? I've seen so many different size configurations, it's a little confusing.

For example some of the sizes I've seen include (LxDxH):
16x16x16
18x18x20
20x20x20
20x20x24
24x24x24

Would an adult GTP be fine in a 18x18x20?

Thanks,

Susan P.

Most are of the opinion that a 2'x2'x2' cube is the smallest for an adult gtp. There are many who would go a little wider as well, say 3'-4' across the face. This will give the chondro a little more choice as far as thermo regulation goes. Clint

It's all a matter of opinion. I've bred chondros in cages 24"w X 24"h X 16"d to tubs 24"l X 16"w X 17"t. I prefer a 24x24x20....but that's just my opinion.
