FEEDING WHILE SHEDDING...

twilightfade212 Dec 24, 2004 12:25 AM

Will a ball python feed when its eyes are blue and getting ready to shed? Thanks to anyone who takes the time to help me out. Merry Christmas.

My Python just shed her skin and still continued to eat so my guess would be yes.

Depends on that BP. Some snakes will continue to feed when they are in blue and some will not. You could try but just make sure you try with smaller sized food item.

I have to agree that it depends on the snake, it turns out that shedding has not affected my snakes' appetites and they continue to eat on schedule. Give it a try.

Just wanted to let everyone know who helped me out that it did eat. I am looking over it for awhile while his owner is out of town, and it always ate live, but the f/t worked out great. Just used a heat lamp to raise the temperature of the mouse a bit. Thanks again.
