Hey all....I've taken and interest in torts. Especially the russian tortoise. I'm not looking for a large tortoise because im not going to house it outdoors. I've been researching the heck out of these guys. The thing is, there isn't much stuff on russians and if there is a lot of it is conflicting with each other. Theres one realy good site that I have been combing through. I forget the name but im sure you know what I'm talking about. Any body with personel experience or and body that wants to share i would greatly appreciate it.

p.s. Im think about ordering the russian from LLL Reptile store. Good? Bad? Do reptiles ship bad in cold weather?

thanks a bunch, chris

do you mean www.russiantortoise.net ?

I think that's a good website.

Essentials:

Varied diet - Use weeds, greens, a few veggies. Don't get stuck on one or two items as you will run the risk of dietary deficiencies. Be sure to add some calcium with d3 a couple times a week for your indoor tortoise. See the website for a list of foods.

Environment - Give them room. An adult would need 6-8 sq ft at a minimum. 90-100F hot spot for about 12 hours a day. Hide spot. Soaking. Clean enclosure regularly.

If you have any questions, just post here or on the forum for the website.
