Hi. Ok, now I was researching snakes for a while (corns to be exact) and while I would still LOVE one, I still ilve with my parents and my mom HATES snakes and if it ever got out my mom would really be mad so that is why, along with me just loving beardies, I have decided to get a beardie. I just love their calmness and beauty they have. Now with snakes, you have to get a small enclosure when they are babies and keep getting larger sizes when they grow. Do beardies need that also? If so would rubbermaid tubs work? I would just hate to keep buying expensive enclosures when the beardie grows. I have read on a lot of websites that aquariums are very good to use and also custom made ones. Well I cant build anything (haha) and I havent read anything about those mesh reptariums. Are those any good? They come in various sizes and Ive read a lot that they need well ventilated enclosures. Well these reptariums are mesh so they are very well ventilated and are sturdy enough to put heat lamps and UVB bulbs on. The sizes I've seen are 20, 38,65,100 and so on. I was thinking the 65 gallon would be good? Or even the 100? They also come in sizes of tall, basic, long, or flat. Which type would be best? I was thinking the 65 or 100 long? I put a link that gives the description and all the different sizes. If you could tell me which one would be good, that'd be great? Thanks
Meghan

I haven't used the mesh cages myself for reptiles and I would be a bit leary about the heat of the basking light melting it. If the Reptariums are metal screen then it's not as much a concern. Just make sure it is laid down so there is more length then height.

Bearded dragons can be housed in their full size cage (at 4'x2'x2' or more, though some height could be sacreficed to give more floor space). A 55 gal breeder or long aquarium is ideal for a single adult dragon. For baby dragons you can use sterlite tubs or just partition off half or 2/3rds of a full sized tank with cardbard, plexiglass or any other solid material cut to fit and secured.
