Would rat pinkies be to big for a 7 or 8 inch sav?

savana_man Jul 03, 2003 11:21 AM

Just wondering because I want to get a pair of rats.

I am sorry, but I have to ask, are you asking these questions because you don't know the answer or because you just want something to socialize about?

I mean, it does not take a ton of grey matter to come up with an answer, like if in doubt, cut it up. You know, make it smaller.

If indeed you are simply socializing, then ignore me and go about your business.

The reason I say any of this is, if you really have to ask such common sense questions, then you may want to rethink keeping monitors. Monitors require you to make decisions for their entire lifes. Once they get larger, the decisions are much more difficult to make(life or death). At this stage, this type of question is very easy to get answered, you simply put the pink rat in and find out. F

You see, this is not the kind of hobby that encourages easily hurt feelings and weak people. So if you want to buck up (or is that monitor up?), step it up, use some common sense, then that is encouraged. Otherwise, stick to the pictus geckos (nothing against geckos, i keep a few myself).

No one is being rude to you or treating you any differently than anyone else on here. This is the way it is! The hobby of monitors is a tough one filled with tough decisions like, cut up this rat, feed it this, put it to sleep because of my mess up, kind of crap! You ask a question that didn't really need to be asked. If you can feed it a fuzzy mouse then a pinky rat is fine also.
You want to leave then leave, but I hate to break it to you, the treatment you get here won't be different on another forum. As a matter of fact, it might even be worse.
Good luck and grow sack!

He asked a simple question. Forum readers should have chosen from two options: 1. answer his simple question, or 2. ignore it. The stupid answers given are all the more reason I frequent a different forum more often than this one - one were people would choose from the two best options to simple questions.
