hello fellow herpers,
my name is Todd Hughes and down here in Corpus Christi, Texas we have had city laws banning hots, boas, and pythons in the city limits since i was a kid.(i'm 42 now) everyone i know is either underground or lives in surrounding communities if they keep anything but colubrids. as a scoutmaster of a troop i have an opportunity to affect several dozens of scouts, siblings and even cub scouts from surrounding packs with the reptile and amphibian merit badge. the kids love it and i do too. i am able to get local parks and wildlife officers involved and the kids learn game laws from them while i get an alligator from them. i agree that education of the next generation is key and encourage all who do not get involved to do so. what an easy way to get "inside" and let the message be known while helping todays youth. i know scoutmasters all over the country would jump at the chance to enrich their program with our knowledge. that being said, i wish you all a merry christmas and fight the good fight!
