Best website and or source for boa breeding info...

neilgolli Dec 24, 2004 07:01 PM

Thanks for the replies, I have not found anything great as of yet and this is a first go for me with boa's.

I have been cooling them for 10 weeks, no food they have been together the entire time. They both shed on December 15th and I have seen them locked up twice in the last 3 days.

I think the one of the biggest mistakes people make is removing the male too soon. I only seperate them to feed them (and then put them back together a day later). If you haven't seen it yet, Jeff Ronne has an article on Boa breeding at www.theboaphile.com/article.html.
Good luck and Merry Christmas, Chris O

Neil,
...Like Chris posted leave them to breed as much as they want. Seperating them too soon can be a mistake. Jeff Ronne's website that Chris posted the link to is good. There are other opinions about breeding Boas. I especially like Gus Rentfro's breeding info at his Rio Bravo Reptiles Website. Follow the link.
Merry Christmas,
Jeff
