Pastel genetics

srsnakes Dec 24, 2004 07:08 PM

Hey so i know I am a little behind on this but can someone tell me if there are any lines of pastel that have been genetically/statistically proved out? Im not sure exactly how this particular trait works. It looks as though it would be a co-dominate trait but i haven't seen any statistics on clutch numbers to be sure or not. And then it also seems as though there is alot of "questionable" pastels. Which are just beautiful normals with light markings and pink sides... Just a little confused on this beautiful new morph and looking for some insite.

Sincerely,
Rose Hipskind

Rose,The male I used to breed raindrop to is a male I picked up here at a local pet store the first thing I done before I started making purchases off her from bigger breeders was to pick up a few of the local bloodlines to keep them going an mix them in with the bloodlines I get from off line to strengthen them with new blood!Well this little male looked just like a normal when I bought him an as he grew he changed,he got pinker with every shed,I mean the pic I am posting really doesnt show his true coloring but it shows enough that you definatley get the idea! You could put him beside a very nice hypo an cover up both of their tails an walk up an ask wich one is the hypo an you couldnt tell!So with this litter of babies that are on the way from her,I am not only trying to prove her abberancies as genetic, but also weather or not his pastelism is genetic also!It will definatley be an interesting litter! An by the time it gets warm enough to ship they should have shed enough times to tell if his traight is passed on or not!Well sorry for going on an on,I am just excited! Here is a pic of daddy! He is 17 months old an 4 an half ft long!Eats medium rats[p/korf/t]like a champ every 7 days!ThanksEric[Hypoboa]His saddles are actually red!an his belly is pure whit with no speckling on it!
