can anyone tell just by looking at him if he is a ghost or anerythristic
Welcome to kingsnake.com's message board system. Here you may share and discuss information with others about your favorite reptile and amphibian related topics such as care and feeding, caging requirements, permits and licenses, and more. Launched in 1997, the kingsnake.com message board system is one of the oldest and largest systems on the internet.

Look at the belly scales. If the scales appear greyish, not black i would say ghost.
he looks ghost to me. His side scales are yellow. Corey
I'd say it's either a pink anery or a dark ghost.
Can you post a belly pic? I'd be able to give you a better, though not definite, answer then.

ventral scales
I'd say ghost, due to the checks not being solid black.

This topic, concerning this exact snake, was covered in great detail on the [bleep] forums:
http://[bleep]/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6683
http://[bleep]/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6696

If you try on enough forums, you may get someone who thinks they have a definitive answer, but you will not in fact get a truly definitive answer based on any kind of visual examination.
Anyone who knows anerythristics and ghosts knows full well that there is a great deal of overlap, which leaves room for either morph to be entirely within the realm of possibilities in cases like this.
Again, I will state for the record that a ghost corn is defined not by colors (or how much brown, black, or yellow, or how "dark" or "faded" its belly checkers are) but by the genotype, which means it is homozygous Anery and homozygous Hypo.
There is no way to be sure about any questionable individual without breeding trials.
Any other answers you get (no matter which forum you ask) will be nothing more than idle speculation.

If you're wondering why your traffic may be waning as of late, you might ask yourself if it's because of your recent adoption of lame, childish, stupid, idiotic, retarded, infantile, and ridiculous tactics such as "bleeping" the names of site which belong to people that apparently someone at your organization has an issue with.
The problem is, it isn't MY issue. Correction: it WASN'T my issue, until you forced it to be my issue.
By making blanket edits of posts (even though the material is 100% ON TOPIC and entirely pertinent to the discussion at hand) in order to pursue your (refer to my previous list of adjectives) little crusade, you have attempted to drag me into this mess and force me to choose sides.
Now it's personal. If I have to choose a "side" then so be it, I will. I find your current set of tactics to be predatory, unethical, demented, childish, and personally offensive to myself and any sensible person who comes to this forum in order to learn about their hobby. Since you see fit to no longer run this site in a way which best suits the interests of the people who wish to enjoy their hobby, I see fit to no longer visit this site or contribute any information of any kind here as long as such an asinine policy continues to exist.
I think you owe me, and every other user of this forum, a personal apology for the disgusting way in which you have tried to use us as pawns in your stupid little game.
If that is reason enough for your staff to "ban" me for life, I will not lose one wink of sleep over it, nor one red cent, as this is not a business for me, it is a hobby. A hobby that this site used to be a part of, until you ruined it.
Sincerely,
Chuck Pritzel, Serpentine Widgets, aka "Serpwidgets"
P.S. If anyone wants to find me, I'll be over at the "bleepenco" forums. That is to say, the "cornsnakes dot com" forums, generously donated and maintained by Serpen Co, and without all the stupid "bleep" lunacy.

That happened to me too...Someone asked a question about a site for educational reasons and when I gave them the correct address, it was bleeped out. I immediately realized that my post was censored and sent them an email. But, guess what? The email was censored too!!! It wasn't until we sent emails to eachother "outside" of the Kingsnake system that I was able to help the guy. It was funny and offensively annoying at the same time.
Now, I realize that in order to keep a site going, one has to make money but this seems rather pety.

I, too, find this practice quite annoying. I've never had one of my messages bleeped, since I've never posted a message referring to those other forums; however, I once had an entire message deleted because I was comparing genetics in Corns to genetics in German Shepherd Dogs, and used the correct term (b**ch) in reference to the female canine. I considered that to be ridiculous, and was most disturbed by the arbitrary fashion in which the message was removed without any consideration for the merits of its content, or the totally correct manner in which the word was being applied.

I have to agree on the pettiness and childishness of it all... I've found myself less and less interested in checking the KS.com forums (and I was an active user this time a year ago)... I suppose KS.com doesn't care how many users they alienate by their practices, and that's their perogative, but it sucks to see how the site has deteriorated... Bleah. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

"You keep WHAT in your freezer?"
"Mice. And rats. If that bothers you, I can call them 'cows' instead."
It really is sad to see what this forum has become compared to what it was last year and years before. This used to be a place for corn hobbyists to come, share ideas, banter theories back and forth, express thoughts, hopes, and accomplishments.
Being censored, especially in such a childish manner as switching any reference to "C o r n s n a k e s . c o m / f o r u m s" to "[bleep]"...come on. Am I back in the sandbox? If I try to help someone by referencing a posting that covers their topic from bleepenco's forum, it automatically gets converted? That, my friends, is really sad. Almost as sad as seeing the traffic through here drop to a trickle.
That's OK, though. Uncensored conversations are jumping at C0RNSNAKES.C0M/F0RUMS and I guess that's where I am being forced to go. It's really just too bad. Like Kat said, leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I tried to help someone who's snakes were stolen and had my message bleeped out. I can't even use this site to refer someone in real need to useful links!
Lately, I've been tempted to offer my many years of experience to help beginners here with questions but I am finding that I don't even want to bother with this site much anymore.
It sucks because the hobby overall suffers for it. I especially feel bad for the new hobbyist that really need help and can't get it here because so many experienced collectors refuse to use this site anymore. Not to mentioned the needless suffering of the animals themselves because of this stupid censor mentality. Very ANTI-INTERNET if you ask me.
I've noticed that only certain sites are bleeped out...as if it's a personal vendetta. That's what I find odd. You can't post a link for S e r p e n C o but you can for many many other sites. I'm a little puzzled myself as to why certain sites are alienated and others aren't. If it's a rule, it should be all or nothing. Right?
