Hi

Ive been saving up some money to buy a chachoua gecko. I wanted to know how big they get care. I was wondering if i could keep it with 2 female crested geckos. I know mixing species is not a good thing cuz my crested gecko eat a brown anole(i think or it escaped). Well i would like to know so i can save some money for a tank and things.

Chahoua are a great species to work with and one of the more personable of all the rhacs. I keep mine at 74-78 during the day and down to 66-70 at night. Cages should be a bit larger than ciliatus cages as chahoua get larger (Most mainlands are approx 10 inches or so, and Pine Islands can reach up to 12 inches) they like larger branches to rest and climb on. Mine will readily accept crickets, roaches, silk worms etc along with babyfoods and i've started to integrate some gagoyle diet into my feeding program as well and they seem to eat that also but I've found chahoua really like thier bugs. As far as housing them with ciliatus I wouldn't do it for fear of them not getting enough food. Chahoua are much bigger and bulkier than ciliatus, hence they move slower for prey items. If you plan to get a chahoua, just add in some extra funds for cage of its own. You won't regret getting chahoua, they are great.
