usually when they are already 3 feet and inports they are already used to having to defend themselves in the wild.. so everytime you are gonna pick em up they feel threatened as they would in the wild and forced to defend themselves.. is it a true redtail ? or a BCI ? cause true redtails seem to be more agressive when wild caught from my experiences as well.

Yup some do eventually come around and get over the nippy tude.
just as many never do ??? Just be patient and always move slowly as not to surprise it.I like the Old T Shirt trick to help them get used to my scent, then they`ll know your not a threat after awhile.Just put a worn T-shirt or even a sock thats been worn and smells like ya inside/under the hide(s).*Replace weekly to keep the scent fresh*
Only handle them for 10-15 min acouple three times a week.
Stay up on the husbandry(temp/humidity) and BE PATIENT !!

Good Luck !

A three footer can easily be tamed. You just have to get over any fear of being bitten and handle the snakle like you do not care if it bites you. If it strikes at you do not back off. Just pick it up and handle it. If it bites you just let it bite and if it wants to chew let it do that. It will soon learn that you are not a threat and that striking and biting does not make you go away or put it down. If you back off when it strikes or put it down when it bites you will reinforce the wrong behaviour. The bite from a 3 footer will hurt a little and bleed some but the wounds are not serious and will quickly heal. If you do not get the snake tamed now it will hurt when it bites you after it has grown a couple more feet.
Good luck and Merry Christmas,
Jeff
