Retained Eye Cap

i have a pueblan, had him for almost a year, and this is the first retained eye cap. so can someone direct me as what to do to get rid of it, hes rather skiddish, and i know DEFINATLEY no tweesers

I would first try to soak a cloth and put it on his eye very gently, if that doesn't work Iv'e heard people use tape, not sure what kind I believe scoth tape hope this helps

and then make sure that you heavily mist the cage very frequently and provide a humid hide box. If that doesn't work, then I would put the snake into a very damp sock and leave it overnight in his cage. Hopefully the extra wetness and friction will work that eye cap off.

A brief rinse with saline solution (the kind used for contact lenses) can help to soften a a stuck eye cap. But perhaps the suggestion to just leave it alone until the next shed is the best. Have fresh drinking water around leading up to the shed (in addition to soaking).
