pregnant?

I know this might sound like a silly question but I'm a newb lol..

It is my first time trying to breed a lizard and I want to try and start with my dragons. I was just wondering how I can tell if the female is pregnant? Would her belly get real big...enough to know that she IS pregnant....or do I have to assume that she would be after they exhibit breeding behavior.
