Two Questions For My First Herp.....

demoniendin Dec 27, 2004 10:02 PM

I went herp hunting today, found the perfect ball, i was in love at first site, very docile and calm when I handled him and looked in geat shape when I examined every nook and crany. Id have to say he was about 16inches, young, definitely an 04, and he also had some girth to him which was also good. If my father didnt have a trial I wouldve had him tonight, but he did and my mom wouldnt let it in her car (shes buying it, but still desnt want anything to do with em, thats going to change though ). Anyways, Ill have more time to set up the tank and be ready since I'm getting him tomorrow. I also got to watch him shed on the most part so I know he doesnt have any shedding problems. Im so happy :D. Ill edit this post tomrrow with some pic of the newest addition to the family, 4 humans, 2 hamsters and 2 dogs.. I think my sister is getting another dog though. Anyways, I just felt the need to let out my excitement on you people, you dont have to read this, its just useless rambling.

BTW: two questions: a ceramic bowl about an inch deep is a suitable water bowl, right? Also, if i put moist sphagnum moss in one of two hides, they are clay pots, would that and the water bowl be suitable for meeting humidity needs, because as far as I read, those are all that are really necessary.

You need a bigger bowl than that. A ceramic bowl 2"-3" deep would be better. Also mist your snake with water twice aweek for ample humidity no matter what you put in the bottom of the cage....Sean
