Check this...what could have caused this?

This one hatched early September with only 3/5 of her tail developed. Any ideas of why? None of her siblings exhibit this trait, so the only thing I can think of is that it is due to stress during incubation. Any ideas would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Ashton

Probably a genetic fluke. For curiousity; what kind of "incubation stress" do you propose she experienced?

Definately genetic... Because her siblings do not express this trait does not rule this out as a possiblity...

only way to know for sure is breed it and see what comes out

It could be genetic, but I doubt it, as this happens alot more so than you may think with geckos. It has alot to do with the placement of the developing gecko within the egg (my opinion). I have a male P.picta that was born with a deformed tail. It doesn't affect breeding, and will most likely never show up in babies produced by her. Possible it could if the babies were inbred back to her though, but that isn't adviseable by me or most others.lol. Good luck!

I went on vacation when the egg was about a month old, and when I got back, some one had changed the temperature in the room to 78 and the medium in the deli-cup was dry (maybe 35% humidity). Then again, this was the only Uroplatus egg that "suffered.

I forgot to mention, that this fluctuation lasted 10 days or less.
