How long should I wait?

netonediecast Dec 28, 2004 06:27 PM

I purchased my RTB three weeks ago last sunday. The store said he ate on Saturday. I tried to feed him the following Saturday with no luck. He started to shed the next week and I tried again to feed and again no luck. Then I tryed again a couple more times. Nothing. I just tryed last Sunday. again no luck.

I put him in a rubbermaid contanter with a live mouse and he does not show anything interest in the mouse. I tryed feed a dead mouse with thongs no insterest. So my questions is how long should I wait or what else can I try? Thanks

You're probably stressing the hell outta the poor thing. Check your temps, and humidity. Be sure he has a comfortable hide box, and leave him in the dark for a week. Don't even peek at him, and try him with fresh killed after a week of darkness. Then just drop it in front of his hide box and LEAVE. More often than not, this works for me. Do not be afraid that your snake will starve to death, they will lasts MONTHS without food. They are designed to be able to do this. I once had a 6ft. Green tree python that went off feed for 8 months, and then decided it wanted to eat like mad.
