Help! Blood python eye problem

czpython Dec 28, 2004 08:48 PM

I've had a yearling blood python for about 3 months now, and he has always ate and seemed healthy until this morning. I went to place him in his feeding cage and noticed that his right eye is a blurry yellow color. The pupil is not visible at all. He appears to not be able to see out of this eye. He also seems to be breathing heavy. Someone please let me know what's wrong and how i can help him. Thank you.

You need to get him to a vet. No one is going to be able to give you a good diagnosis without seeing the animal.

Hey,
It sounds to me like it might an "lacrimal duct" occlusion, with possible infection. The best bet for treating this is a vet. Find one using the AVA web site, and get him/her, in as soon as possible before it develops into something worse.
