termite questions

mydumname Dec 28, 2004 10:55 PM

I live in NJ near the pine barrens and I know the dead pine trees are usually filled with termites. What do you think about feeding wild caught termites to dart frogs? I am a little hesitant about doing this. Also, do you feed them the termite itself, the larva, or both? Has anyone had problems by doing this? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Most of the people that sell termites are selling farm raised ones or they have a spot that they collect the termites from. If you have a source than I would use it. I dont know of any problems feeding termites to your frogs. I would not feed large solider termites to young thumbnails though.
