Are these good pets?

I was thinking about getting a kingsnake. I was wondering how nippy they are, and their general temperment. Thanks!

I had a breeder trio of pueb milks and they were squirmy but not nippy. My current juvie cali kings are hostile, biting, musking little monsters. On the bright side there dang good feeders.LOL.
There mouths arent even big enough to draw blood yet and I hope with some handling they mellow out.I doubt if I answered your question as Im new to kings myself.

It depends. I would not suggest a kingsnake for your first snake. They can be more nippy and musk you a lot. If you are interested in snakes, get a corn snake. If you like that, you might consider getting a kingsnake later when you have more experience.

I think a King is an excellent choice for a first snake. Some can be nippy but hey so can any snake. I would look into getting any of the Getula subspecies they are all good choices. Make sure the snake you get is feeding on frozen thawed rodents and ask about its temperment. Again there is no hardier snake out there than a Kingsnake (specifically the Common King). Good luck!
