Hide spot or not for baby BD?

tanmuscles Dec 28, 2004 11:34 PM

I'm getting a baby bearded dragon on thursday. I've wanted one since I was 13 (I'm 17 now), so I'm pretty sure I have all the appropriate care down pat. The only question I have is whether or not to give him/her a hiding spot. The one I'm getting is 6 inches. I read that if you give them a hiding spot when they are that young they may spend all their time there and neglect eating. This seems kind of wierd to me, but i guess i'm used to monitors where you HAVE to give them a hiding spot or they become violently defensive. Thanks for the help, i'll probably be posting here more often when I discover that i need help with the new guy.

I can only speak from my own experience. I have had 21 baby dragons at one time or another and have never had that problem.

I have a hide spot for my dragon, but she NEVER uses it. She only climbs on it.
