im letting my pair of rats grow up together.. im not sure how old they are... tonight i noticed them fighting.. theyre in my room and they woke me up, so i watched them for a little while to see what the problem was... i guess Nibbles the Rat, my male, is ready to make me some babies... but Lemiwinks the Rat, my female, isnt... he kept trying to do his work but she would turn around and bite/tackle him.. im pretty sure thats what they were trying to do.. i mean what else would he be doing?
i checked both rats out this morning and theyre both fine, no blood (itd be easy to see, theyre both albino) and no other injuries i could see... they usually sleep on each other and have no other confrontations.. just when he tries and shes not ready.... poor guy
ive never had this problem with my mice... Nibbles the Mouse and Lemiwinks the Mouse never had any problems giving me babies... so my question is should i separate the rats before one of them do get hurt, and wait for her to mature a little, then reintroduce them.... or should i just let them go at it and shell let him do it when shes ready? thanks for reading all that... dave
