sheeesh .. I haven't been happy with the photos lately. My new camera has proven to be a huge learning curve (Nikon D70), so many little settings to toy with.... anyway, I like the way these photos came out...taken over the last week.

Very nice CE! The suri's are very beautiful, from where? And what can you say about the Arabesque, simply amazing. One of these days I will have an Arabesque, really want to work with them! Hope you and your family have a safe New Years!
thanks for the kind words. The suris are from Florida redtails, they are beautiful little critters as are all boas
The ara's are definately cool, I'm a pattern junkie so I got the perfect morph for my tastes..the color don't hurt either

I think they are accurately represented here. I get tired of seeing all these boas posted with glow in the dark tails and photoshopped colors ... an accurate photo always makes the animals look better. Nothing better then opening the box and getting exactly what you thought you were getting or better
When you getting your critter from Roberto ?

Your arabesque albino has more of a reddish overall coloration in comparison to mine. Yours has more intense color as well that should be even crazier in a year or so. My arabesque albino has more of an orange coloration to her, Im thinking probably from the 50% salmon influence (Meaning shes 50% salmon bloodline, her mom being a salmon het albino). We know how nice Tom's salmons are!
I cant wait to see how our alb ara's develop. Its gonna be a blast! Mine just shed the other day, I still cant get over the color!
Here is another picture of her for comparison:

I think your gal is about 3 times the size of mine, born a few months earlier...mine is tiny.
You know you love that badboy

for you taken with my Nikkon Coolpix 2500. It takes decent shots for a cheapy 2.0 megapixel. Keep them coming as I am sure when you figure that bad boy out your pics will be mind blowing.
Like they aren't already.

I always pegged you for a nikon man...I got my D70 all the way back in April and am only now starting to feel real comfortable with it, especially out in the field. If I can make a suggestion...first, if you don't already have it, go out and buy the 105mm macro f2.8 D lens...it's absolutely the best, most reasonable lens I've found for that camera and is absolutely perfect for the types of shots you seem to like to take. Second, if you don't already have it (again, it seems like you might) the RAW plug in from adobe that works with Photoshop CS has been a lifesaver. In particular, the white balance adjustments and any exposure compensation can be fiddles with when post-processing so you don't have to constantly worry yourself with your settings when out in the field (or even for studio pics).
Anyway...have fun...I just got a new tripod head and a Wacom pen tablet for my photoshop and photo obsession...
Cheers and have a good new year...
Gabriel
This photo was taken with the suggested lens.

not to often. I only have a 1 gig card and the raw just eats that up in minutes. Also, even with 1 gig of ram and a decent processor working with the raw files is a very slow process on my PC with or without photoshop. Seam Mills turned me on to "Bibble Pro" but I haven't had a chance to really toy with it yet.

As for the lenses, I have been giving that nikor 105 a close look and for the price I don't know if it's worth it. If I can get a decent used one then I might bite the bullet. I have also been looking at some of the Sigma lenses for macro....

this 150mm looks great, but I haven't found any reviews yet. It's either this or a used 105mm F2.8 Nikor. I'm still recovering from Christmas so for now I'll stick to the kit lenses and worry about upgrading this summer.
Here's a couple other lenses I'm drooling over...
Nikon 50mm f/1.4 AF Nikkor
Nikon 85mm f/1.4D AF Nikkor
Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8D ED AF Zoom-Nikkor
and for the bargain shoppers
Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 EX APO IF HSM
Sigma APO 100-300mm f4 EX IF HSM
It will be a while before I buy another lense so untill then it's just alot of research and toying around at the camera shop. I need a real life feel of these things before any decions are made. So much to learn....

I suppose I'm sort of spoiled working in a lab full of Macs with G5 processors and photoshop CS...
I haven't used Bibble, but I have heard it's decent...That fixed lens 85mm Nikkor is a killer lens (and somewhat reasonable too).
have fun.
