PetMania Dec 29, 2004 08:29 AM

Once the female is gravid will she let the male continue to breed her? This is my first time trying to breed BP so any help would be thankful.

when a female ovulates and becomes gravid, the male's job is done. Breeding serves no purpose after this point. It seems to me that females "control" most of the breeding anyway and I place my emphasis on females more so than males during the breeding season.
Will the female "let" the male breed her once she is gavid? From my observations, no. But I pull males from females once they ovulate. I do suppose you can have a randy male....
I have some info on the topic on my site. Feel free to check it out.
Hope this helps,
Joe
