Mounting a C.H.E.

So I am finally going to start building a cage. It's going to be wood and 4"L x2"W x18"H. I'm going to use a ceramic heat emitter, and I wanted to keep it outside the cage. I saw a pic on here of one, the che was on the outside, but it was in a space that angled into the cage, so it wasn't any extra space sticking out the back. Doesn't seem to hard to figure out how to do, but I'd like to see that picture again for ideas.
Also, how big a space should I leave around the che so the wood doesn't burn.
The che I am using is an Exo Terra 100W about 3"W x 3"L.
Thanks for any help or ideas.

That was a design origionally done by Cap'n Hook2. (by the way if you read this please contact me on that flexwatt.)

Here's the pictures.

by the way I chose to use a raidant heat panel over that design for a couple reasons. One is that I didn't want to end up buying a whole new sheet of plywood to do it, but the main reason is if you expose wood to a high heat for a long period of time (as in years), it will be very likely to spontaneously ignite. the RHP's have more insulation on them... plus I just like them better.

And they will end up being cheaper. I found this helix panel at lll reptile, $65. you'll end up spending about $40 on a CHE, then $15 on a ceramic based fixture... so i'd spend $10 more and put this on a rheostat.

this panel IS a little big... thats why I say put it on a rheostat. I like the one I got from pro products better... but when I bought 3 more these for $65 was better than one for $90.

Yeah that is the picture I was looking for. I was going to use a CHE because I already have one, and the ceramic plug and a dome. I was thinking of buying one of those rhp's from LLL, but I don't want to spend money when I don't have to.
