Hi,
I am thinking of getting a tree frog. What are the best kinds for beginners? What type of tree frog can fit in my extra 20 gallon tank?
Sincerely
Hannah

Green treee frogs are easy to maintain, and do a lot of research. As a beginer, you should stay away from red eye tree frogs, and waxy monkey tree frogs.

I feel that Greens are far too flighty, and not always the best of feeders. There is no doubt in my mind that Gray TFs are the best. Very tolerant of occassional handling associated with cleaning and such. If you have the ability to collect a male yourself, I would encourage it over giving money to people who unsustainably collect them. Good luck.

Thank you for all the advice. What about Whites tree frogs do they make good pets for beginners?
They make excellent first tree frogs, however it would be best to provide a White's tree frog with more space than a 20 gallon aquarium. You could start a juvenile in your aquarium and then get a larger cage in the future.
