Varigated (sp?) Ivy

mommyof2greenigs Dec 29, 2004 03:04 PM

My little escape artist escaped at some point today and had a picnic (he was fed this morning) on a varigated ivy that sits in the dining room (Im not sure how much he ate)... Since I have been home and found him he has eaten again and drank some water... He seems to be doing alright... Climbing and that sort of thing in and out of basking... Now my question is... Will this hurt him? I havent been able to find its toxic reports anywhere and itn doesnt tell ti on melissas site....

All the info I have for toxic and non-toxic plants for igs lists all ivy as a 'toxic' plant. Does not state how much or what symptoms occur either.
Best of luck.

Yeah I know thats why I asked here... I researched it myself and couldnt find anything. He seems to be doing great and its about 7 hours since he ingested it so I would think if it were going to do anything to him it would have started by now considering it is a toxin. My emergency vet said to feed him and keep an eye on him and if anytying changes to bring him in. So since nothing has changed and hes eating everything in sight im gonna say he may not have eaten as much as I thought.
