Tsunami Aid

ByeByeKerry Dec 29, 2004 04:28 PM

Earlier today I heard on the news that France has pledged a whopping $136,000 in aid to the countries hit by the Tsunami. Meanwhile, the USA, which has pledged at least $35 million, is getting bashed for its "stingy" contribution. What's wrong with this picture?

Personally, I'd like to see the aid distributed only to those countries, if any, who have supported the USA in our war on terror.

... but I don't want to get my account pulled.

I can only assume that you are an 11 year old and therefore I will be lenient and (try) to explain it to you:

France, Germany and the U.S. have one (maybe more) thing(s) in common: Money is short nowadays.

Germany and France are running low on money because of their exaggerated social systems that can not survive in times of globalization of the economy.

The U.S. is running low on money not because of the social system but because of the costs of the war on Iraq.

The calculation to go to Iraq, win the war and pay the costs out of the fizzing oil wells turned out to be a naive fallacy.

I am 47 years old and always voted for the conservative party in Germany. But since the German chancellor Schröder, a socialist, refused to join the war on Iraq I will support the socialists in the future. It was a huge merit of him to keep us out of this ciminal nonsense.

The war on terror as you put it was a terror war for oil, geopolitical and economical interests of the U.S. and Israel in the Middle East. Not a war on terror. This war has lead to more terror as the badest doom talker would have imagined.

And you, in your safe house with your butt on a dry and warm armchair, how dare you to complain about tax dollars for innocent people who has lost everything (home, goods, relatives, the entire existence). You should be ashamed!

"The U.S. is running low on money not because of the social system but because of the costs of the war on Iraq."

Actually, the US is not "running low on money". We are just fine, thank you.

"The calculation to go to Iraq, win the war and pay the costs out of the fizzing oil wells turned out to be a naive fallacy."

The fallacy is in the assumption that oil had anything to do with this war.

"I am 47 years old and always voted for the conservative party in Germany. But since the German chancellor Schröder, a socialist, refused to join the war on Iraq I will support the socialists in the future. It was a huge merit of him to keep us out of this ciminal nonsense."

"Criminal"? The more I hear an irrational foreigner bash the US, the prouder I am to be an American.

"The war on terror as you put it was a terror war for oil, geopolitical and economical interests of the U.S. and Israel in the Middle East. Not a war on terror. This war has lead to more terror as the badest doom talker would have imagined."

As I said before, oil has nothing to do with this war. As for terror, we've had none in the US since our fearless leader got busy with the evil-doers.

"And you, in your safe house with your butt on a dry and warm armchair, how dare you to complain about tax dollars for innocent people who has lost everything (home, goods, relatives, the entire existence). You should be ashamed!"

I should be "ashamed" because a German is offended by the fact that I don't care to see my hard-earned tax dollars sent to a country that doesn't like me? I'm proud to know that I've disappointed an anti-American German.

... U.S. citizens who had voted for Bush.

Such ignorance and blind nationalism is bottom crashing.

Compared with people like you the German citizens back in 1933 were downright enlightened.

ByeByeKerry Dec 29, 2004 10:12 PM

I didn't think you would attempt to refute any of the specific points I've made.

So H & L Stoeckl hates Bush. It is no coincidence that Osama was also a big John Kerry fan.

in arguing with blind nationalists that the earth is not a disc.

I am also sure that you support the idea that the world was built in 7 days and that the evolution theory is blasphemia.

ByebyeKerry....Is it a surprise that the moniker was chosen as one that would be deliberatly provocative and offensive to non Republicans?

I look at what he has written and I weigh his sense of perspective based on the name. It's obvious that what ever views presented are going to only come from that.

No sense debating...

I realize that I may be "offensive" to someone who is irrational. So sorry Frank. So sorry H & E.

Contrary to what you have implied, I am not a republican. So much for your presumptuous comment implying that, because I am happy to see John Kerry go, I can't possibly agree with anything "non-Republican".

I am a proud American. I also happen to be of German descent. I didn't understand your point.
