No sooner had I bought mineral oil that Isis started shedding her tail all on her own! (Man, that stuff works great. You don't even have to open the bottle.
) There is so much previously-unshed skin that the shed pieces are opaque! They should be at least transluscent. The new tail spikes are a beautiful black colour, and razor-sharp too. If she whips me with that tail, I'll bleed for sure.
By keeping her on a diet of water-rich greens (I rinse them off with water before giving them to her), she has taken in enough water to shed all the problem spots from before.
Here she is munching away on some dandelion leaves. Her tail is looking better every day.
