First medium rat??? too big???

bloodboy128 Dec 30, 2004 03:27 PM

My snake is barely 3 1/2 feet. Is he too small fro a medium rat? The rat looked a lot bigger than him but he attacked and constricted it live with no problem and had a huge lump when he was finished? is it ok to feed him these at this size? Also at 4 ft. will he be ready for large rats|? Thanks for the help,
Jake

Why live?
Kind of dangerous, no?
What happens when your snake graduates to rabbits? At last check, my pet shop was getting $30 for live rabbits.
The farms were $10.
What happens when you cant find them live?
Start your snake on frozen thawed prey. Before you cant make the switch.

I agree with Burmaboy. Get your snake on prekilled. My gal got stuck on live for almost 11 years. Its only been the past year and half that she's been eating thawed.

The sooner the better.
