You can get bulbs just about any place. Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart...etc. I use 1 65 watt incandescent to heat a 6' trough. In my 8' cage i use two 65 watt incandescents. Just make sure that you get flood light bulbs and not spot lights. Also the halogens tend to have too much of a concentrated beam, that goes for with and without the hex pattern, plus incandescents seem to last longer and are also cheaper if you buy in quantity.
I use only 45 watt halogen outdoor flood bulbs, you can use as many as you need for the size of the animal, they make a nice even hotspot thats 150f plus at 12-14 inches away from plywood in a solid top cage. I use them on every reptile it serves the purpose so well.

i agree with JAF, but in addition i use slightly higher wattage because 1. i like having the bulb at a further distance away from my monitors, more inaccesible to burns, and 2. my collection is in my basement which stays way cooler than what my monitors should be at.
good luck
scott
