bp blood noticed during breeding

This is my first time breeding my ball pythons and I noticed a small trail of blood on the paper in the cage when my snakes were paired up (no copulation witnessed) and was curious if this was at all normal or if I should be concerned. I am unable to determine if this is from my male or female. Does anyone have some experience with this for some insight?
