U. Phantasticus Breeding Question

toksyn Dec 30, 2004 04:23 PM

I've had success before with breeding phantasticus, but that first female has since died. I've acquired two more females, as well as another male, and I have them paired up in seperate enclosures. I highly doubt that one pair is breeding, and while the other pair seems to show signs of having copulated, the female will only lay infertile eggs. Anything I should try? Thanks.

try adding a UV bulb to your enclosure if you haven't already. and depending on how much cover you have in the cage you may also want to increase the number of plants/vines you have in it.

I used a zoo med 5.0 last year with them.

Use a good calcium mix (trical is my personal favorite) as well and feed them daily. I had my best breeding with my ebanaui when I just fed them, sprayed them, and ignored them. Last year my red girl produced 7 clutches. The more foliage the better.
