what's the safe breeding size for black rat?

I have a 18 months old pair, and I don't know if the female is big enough for breeding.
what's the minimum weight for breeding?

I can't answer the weight aspect of this question but I'm sure someone else can help there. Personally, I don't believe in breeding until 3 years old-and I don't have a conservative feeding schedule. I think you will find this is the generally accepted standard. My 3-year old Everglades female is about 4 feet long and that is a size that makes me comfortable that she can handle the stresses of breeding. If you do breed the smaller snake, please be sure to let us know how she does in terms of egg fertility and number or other tougher problems like egg-binding.
